{"id":608,"date":"2011-10-26T07:41:46","date_gmt":"2011-10-26T14:41:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nadynerichmond.com\/blog\/?p=608"},"modified":"2011-10-26T10:05:32","modified_gmt":"2011-10-26T17:05:32","slug":"so-maybe-it-wasnt-such-great-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nadynerichmond.com\/blog\/2011\/10\/26\/so-maybe-it-wasnt-such-great-service\/","title":{"rendered":"so maybe it wasn&#8217;t such great service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A couple of weeks ago, <a title=\"now that\u2019s service!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nadynerichmond.com\/blog\/2011\/10\/04\/now-thats-service\/\">I posted about an experience that I had with Pop Market<\/a>, wherein I raved about their customer support. \u00a0I spoke too soon. \u00a0It&#8217;s now three weeks later, and I&#8217;m still having issues.<\/p>\n<p>You see, I ordered a set of three albums. \u00a0One of those three albums, the deluxe edition of <em>Pearl<\/em> by Janis Joplin, has a manufacturing error. \u00a0The packaging is correct, but the discs inside are Earth, Wind &amp; Fire. \u00a0I contacted Pop Market when I noticed the problem. \u00a0Very quickly, I got a response, and they sent out a replacement. \u00a0I wrote that prior blog post when I got such a quick response from them.<\/p>\n<p>On October 11, I received the replacement. \u00a0I opened it up, and discovered the same problem: right packaging, wrong discs. \u00a0I wrote them again, and again received a fast response. \u00a0They said that they were sending out another replacement.<\/p>\n<p>On October 20, I received the replacement for the replacement. \u00a0You can guess what happened, right? \u00a0It&#8217;s the same manufacturing error. \u00a0This time, I wrote the following to them:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hello,<\/p>\n<p>I have received the replacement &#8220;Pearl&#8221; by Janis Joplin.\u00a0\u00a0However, this\u00a0replacement has the same issue that the previous two had: the discs inside\u00a0the package are &#8220;Essential Plus&#8221; by Earth, Wind &amp; Fire.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ve now sent me three copies of this album, and all three of them have\u00a0what I presume is a manufacturing error.\u00a0\u00a0I appreciate how fast you&#8217;ve\u00a0responded to me and sent out replacement copies, but all of them are still\u00a0incorrect.\u00a0\u00a0How can I ensure that I get a replacement copy of this album\u00a0that actually has the correct discs inside?<\/p>\n<p>As you can see from my account, I&#8217;ve purchased multiple items from Pop\u00a0Market now.\u00a0\u00a0I really like the service, and I&#8217;m very happy that you&#8217;ve\u00a0been so responsive thus far in the issue that I&#8217;m trying to raise.\u00a0\u00a0I&#8217;m\u00a0sure that you are limited in what you can do, but I hope that you can try\u00a0to do something that goes a bit beyond simply shipping me yet another copy\u00a0of the album.\u00a0\u00a0I now have three incorrect copies of &#8220;Pearl&#8221; sitting next\u00a0to my stereo, and I don&#8217;t want to add a fourth incorrect copy to the pile.<\/p>\n<p>Best regards,<br \/>\nNadyne Richmond.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Again, I got an almost instantaneous response, and it also shows that they actually read the mail that I sent them:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hi Nadyne Richmond,<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m sorry to know that you are not receiving the ordered product. I have forwarded this information to our warehouse department for further investigation. As soon as I get any more information in this regard, I will get back to you.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your patience as I strive to provide you with the best service and support possible.<\/p>\n<p>Sincerely,<br \/>\nSony Music Digital<br \/>\n[number redacted]<br \/>\nVictor<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s now been nearly a week, and I don&#8217;t have a response from them yet. \u00a0But I do have three borked copies of <em>Pearl<\/em>, and I really don&#8217;t want to add another to the pile.<\/p>\n<p>You might remember that this isn&#8217;t the only problem that I&#8217;m currently having with Sony. \u00a0I should write up an update of the whole <a title=\"lost in tech support hell between Sony and Amazon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nadynerichmond.com\/blog\/2011\/09\/07\/lost-in-tech-support-hell-between-sony-and-amazon\/\">Amazon\/Sony tech support debacle<\/a> sometime soon, but suffice it to say that it&#8217;s not resolved either. \u00a0To put a cherry on top of this Sony-flavored sundae, I got an email today saying that my <a title=\"Sony Recalls 1.6 Million Bravia TV Sets Because of Fire Risk\" href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/news\/2011-10-12\/sony-recalls-1-6-million-bravia-tv-sets-because-of-fire-risk.html\">Sony television needs to be inspected to ensure that it&#8217;s not a fire risk<\/a>. \u00a0I feel like I need to check on everything I own that was made by Sony to make sure that it doesn&#8217;t have a problem.
