{"id":564,"date":"2011-09-22T07:56:03","date_gmt":"2011-09-22T14:56:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nadynerichmond.com\/blog\/?p=564"},"modified":"2011-09-29T14:39:03","modified_gmt":"2011-09-29T21:39:03","slug":"switching-to-sliderocket","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nadynerichmond.com\/blog\/2011\/09\/22\/switching-to-sliderocket\/","title":{"rendered":"switching to SlideRocket"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m an early adopter. \u00a0Tell me there&#8217;s some new hotness out there on the web, and I&#8217;m there to check it out. \u00a0I might or might not continue to use it, but I&#8217;ve always checked it out. \u00a0One of my favorite things about working in high tech is that I get to be an uber-early adopter. \u00a0I get access to projects that we&#8217;re working on before they&#8217;re in beta, so I get to play around with them and hopefully offer ideas for improvement (or at least find some bugs so that they get fixed before they&#8217;re out in the real world).<\/p>\n<p>VMware has been great about feeding this addiction to early adoption. \u00a0We&#8217;ve acquired some great companies lately, and they&#8217;re ones with products that I&#8217;ve been really excited to start using. \u00a0Earlier this year, <a title=\"SlideRocket Launches in VMware Cloud\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sliderocket.com\/blog\/2011\/04\/sliderocket-launches-into-the-vmware-cloud-2\/\">we acquired SlideRocket<\/a>. \u00a0Switching away from PowerPoint is hard, especially given how long I spent as a member of that team. \u00a0But my strong desire to use VMware&#8217;s products as much as possible means that I took the plunge.<\/p>\n<p>Switching to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sliderocket.com\/\">SlideRocket<\/a> has been surprisingly easy. \u00a0My deep knowledge of PowerPoint hasn&#8217;t hindered me from picking up how to best use SlideRocket quickly. \u00a0I also like that it makes including web-based content easy. \u00a0Want a YouTube video?
