{"id":469,"date":"2011-07-11T07:31:56","date_gmt":"2011-07-11T14:31:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nadynerichmond.com\/blog\/?p=469"},"modified":"2011-07-06T21:05:24","modified_gmt":"2011-07-07T04:05:24","slug":"request-for-laptop-bag-recommendations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nadynerichmond.com\/blog\/2011\/07\/11\/request-for-laptop-bag-recommendations\/","title":{"rendered":"request for laptop bag recommendations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s time for a new laptop bag. \u00a0My current laptop bag is a messenger bag that was a gift from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.smallersystems.com\/blog\/\">my wonderful husband<\/a>. \u00a0It&#8217;s\u00a0starting to wear out. \u00a0I&#8217;ve been looking at laptop bags, and I haven&#8217;t found what I&#8217;m looking for. \u00a0So I turn to you, dear reader, in the hopes that you can help me out with laptop bag recommendations. \u00a0My requirements are as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>CANNOT USE VELCRO IN ANY WAY. \u00a0This is a strict requirement. \u00a0I want to be able to sneak into a conference room and not have the rrrrrrrrrrip of the velcro give away that I&#8217;m a few minutes late. \u00a0I hate velcro with a burning passion.<\/li>\n<li>The main compartment should close fully, probably via zipper. \u00a0My laptop bag will get stuffed under airplane seats and otherwise treated poorly, and I want to minimize the risk of something falling out.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to hold a 15-inch MacBook Pro.<\/li>\n<li>Additional pockets are nice. \u00a0My laptop bag is home to a MBP power adapter and a small bag of miscellaneous cables and adapters. \u00a0I also always carry a couple of pens, a small notebook, a granola bar or two, and a deck of cards.<\/li>\n<li>When I&#8217;m on a business trip, my laptop bag is also usually my purse, so having a place to fit my wallet, keys, phone, and sunglasses is useful. \u00a0So is an easy-to-access external pocket to slide a boarding pass in.<\/li>\n<li>Minimal branding. \u00a0I don&#8217;t wear clothing with visible brands<sup class='footnote'><a href='#fn-469-1' id='fnref-469-1' onclick='return fdfootnote_show(469)'>1<\/a><\/sup>, and I don&#8217;t want my laptop bag to have a lot of branding on it either.<\/li>\n<li>Colors. \u00a0There are enough boring black laptop bag in the world, mine shouldn&#8217;t be one of them. \u00a0A laptop bag should have personality.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>So: what ideas do you have, dear readers?
