{"id":410,"date":"2011-05-26T07:08:11","date_gmt":"2011-05-26T14:08:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nadynerichmond.com\/blog\/?p=410"},"modified":"2011-05-25T17:09:01","modified_gmt":"2011-05-26T00:09:01","slug":"why-i-work-for-vmware","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nadynerichmond.com\/blog\/2011\/05\/26\/why-i-work-for-vmware\/","title":{"rendered":"why I work for VMware"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When I moved to VMware last year, I was often asked by friends and colleagues why I chose to leave consumer apps for enterprise apps. \u00a0There&#8217;s a lot of different reasons, but VMware&#8217;s CIO summed up one of them very well in <a title=\"CIOs\u2019 Dilemma: Making Business Apps User-Friendly\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/venturecapital\/2011\/05\/25\/cios-dilemma-making-business-apps-user-friendly\/\">this interview with the Wall Street Journal<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>You\u2019re at home and you have Facebook, you have Twitter: great UI, you\u2019re able to collaborate, there\u2019s no training classes for that. You go into the enterprise and you\u2019ve got Soviet-era interfaces and they\u2019re horrible.
