getting started

I’ve been meaning to move my blog off of MSDN blogs for ages, and now (with a hosting recommendation from Schwieb) have done so.  Yay!

Next up: start installing WordPress plug-ins, and find a theme (although at least this isn’t the standard boring blue WordPress theme).  Oh, right, and I should post some real content too.

  1. The RSS logo on your page is a bit misleading.
It’s the only one that’s really visible but it leads to your Tweeter feed instead of the RSS for the page. Sure, it’s written next to it, but if you look for the RSS for the page, it’s tempting to simply click on this one…

PS: And congrats for the move 🙂

    1. Ahh, thanks for pointing that out! I installed a Twitter widget just before going to bed, confirmed that it loaded, and didn’t do anything else to see how it fit into the page.

So I either need to figure out how to make that Twitter widget get rid of the RSS graphic (because really, who reads Twitter via RSS?) or find a better Twitter widget. And I’ve got to get an RSS link up too. Blog ownership is a never-ending to-do list.

  2. Hi Nadyne,
Congratulations with your new site. I hope all goes well with moving the content off your old site. Your signature on MacRumors still point to your old site though.

    Regards

    1. Thanks for pointing that out! I’m now finding all the places where I need to fix that. 🙂

I can’t move the content off of the old site onto this one. Content on my old blog is owned by Microsoft. I’ll continue to link to it, and I’m sure I’ll end up quoting myself at one point or another, but that’s all I can do with it.
